BANCROFT CONVERTIBLE FUND, INC. APPOINTS AMERICAN STOCK TRANSFER AS TRANSFER AGENT/REGISTRAR
Bancroft Convertible Fund, Inc. (AMEX: BCV) has appointed American Stock Transfer & Trust Company (AST) to provide registrar, transfer agent and Automatic Dividend Investment Plan services for Bancroft shareholders effective February 25, 2000.
AST’s services include stock transfers, dividend disbursements, direct deposit for dividend checks, optional cash purchases of stock, safekeeping, distribution of annual meeting information, management of proxy voting, and toll-free calling to AST customer service representatives.  Bancroft shareholders will benefit from American Stock Transfer’s team of professionals, who are knowledgeable regarding all aspects of stock transfer administration.  AST’s state-of-the-art stockholder system will also eliminate duplicate mailings to shareholders within the same household. In addition, shareholders who have Internet access can download commonly used forms that facilitate share transfers from AST’s Web site at www.amstock.com.*
As of February 25, 2000 all communications related to shareholder transactions should be directed to American Stock Transfer & Trust representatives @ 1-800-937-5449. No action is required on the part of current shareholders for the conversion process.
